Introducing Houston Chiropractor Dr. Robert Ramirez

Clayton giving Dr. Ramirez a "thumbs up" sign.Dear Friend,

You know when I meet people, many ask about the pictures on this page. They will usually say, "I figured you were the taller guy but who are the two cute little boys with you?" Before I talk about these great guys let me tell you my story.

Years ago something happened to me that change my life forever.

Back in high school I developed a condition known as TMJ syndrome. It started with clicking in my jaws. But a couple of years later while serving in the Marine Corps it continually got worse. Whenever I was stressed physically or mentally my jaw would lock up. Many times when I was sleeping and relaxed my jaw would slide out of socket, and I would have to 'pop' it back in. Boy, was that painful. I was afraid to tell anyone. You know Marines have a real reputation of being tough and strong, so I was afraid others would laugh, or just think I wanted to get out of work. Most importantly I was afraid I would need surgery on my jaws. After my four years of service in the USMC I thought "I am just going to have to learn to live with it." But I was wrong!

Dr. Robert Ramirez and little Zenen. One day while halfway through my chiropractic education I was doing research on the internet. I found a group of chiropractors that use a gentle procedure in the upper neck. I went to see one. This doctor did an exam, took some films and then ‘adjusted’ my spine. Then she took some x-rays after to measure what she had done. The adjustment didn’t hurt, actually I barely felt it. My jaw stopped popping out of socket and locking up. It worked so well for me, and I was so impressed with the other 'miracles' I saw in her office, that I became an upper cervical chiropractor myself.

Now for Clayton, who is giving the 'thumbs up' sign. When he came to see us he could not bend his knees and was using full leg braces. Imagine, a little boy not being able to play with his friends, he was afraid of falling and hurting himself. After I started to adjust him, his legs began to improve immediately. Now, he plays, runs and races his 'mongoose' bike – and WINS! That seems like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference to him.

The other little guy is Zenen. His parents bring him in for check ups to give him a great start in life, and help prevent little problems so they won’t become big problems later on.

It’s strange how life is, because now people come to see me with their TMJ syndrome problems. Also, they come to me with their headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck pain, shoulder/arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, backaches, ear infections, asthma, allergies, numbness in the limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few.

You should know that I don’t heal anyone of anything. What I do is perform a specific spinal adjustment to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself. We get tremendous results. It’s as simple as that!

I am a graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic. I’ve been entrusted to take care of tiny babies, pregnant mothers and family members of all ages. My assistant is Jena, and she is a really great person. Our office is both friendly and warm. We try our best to make you feel at home. We have a wonderful service, at an exceptional fee. Call Jena or me today for an appointment. We can help. Thank you.

Dr. Rob Asks some important questions of interest to Houston residents - Chiropractor Houston Dr. Rob Asks...

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Is average normal or is normal average?
Every chiropractor knows that so-called "normal" is merely an average. What's normal for you may not be normal for anyone else. So the chiropractic approach to better health is to tailor our approach to the unique needs of each of our Houston patients.
